47-year-old Edward Trevor Aldridge pled guilty to assault charges in Christchurch, New Zealand after an altercation in a mens restroom.
...[the victim] used a urinal next to Aldridge who accused him of looking at him and punched him twice in the face.
Defence counsel Liz Bulger told the court: "This incident arose from a breach of what I understand to be urinal etiquette."
The judge sentenced Aldridge to 300 hours incarceration and 50 hours of community service. Link -via Arbroath
Poor things would be berated for not standing nearby and making small talk.

Ironically, this guy may get sent to the clink for this rowdy business and urinal etiquette will be the least of his worries!
In all seriousness I think the attacker may have gone a little out of hand. But then again that is why there are more than just two urinals in a bathroom so guys can have their space.
It's wrong for the other guy to be looking - no question - but beating up the guy is a little drastic.
That guy's lucky he wasn't charged with a hate crime, since he was attacking somebody he perceived was a homosexual.
Does he have to wait till one of the first two are finished, or does he just... wedge in the middle?
Thank goodness I'm a chick and don't have to worry about that stuff. For myself, I avoid public restrooms alltogether when I can. And never use one for more than pee'ing. Thats just gross when you go into a bathroom and someone is doing "serious business". Eww.
Else he should go wash his hands first and wait.
Of course if it's super urgent he can go but must keep his eyes straight ahead.
