I find myself welling up with tears while watching this- Such beauty, competence and dignity- the culmination of four million million years of evolution leading to the birth of this small, fragile being. This truly is a wonderful world.
If you find something that happens every day in the wild gross and disgusting, then maybe you should think about how it is natural. Just because we live in a world where doctors do much of the work for us, a single orang utang going through the whole birth procedure by herself, who else is their to clear the goo off? I think it's an amazing treasure to watch a moment as rare as this.
Wow - that is easily my favorite video clip of the week! Great find, Miss C!
Does anyone know what's up with the chewbacca-like groaning in the background? That can't be the mom, right... (at one point she was slurping the new baby and I don't think she could slurp and burp at the same time)
but seriously, that is one tough lady
