Elephant Playing Darts

Here proof that Elephants are intelligent creatures. This one can play darts a well as a human. How's THAT! for a neat pachyderm Link

yeah, i wonder that too Fezdango. i hate to see any animal exploited - but, for me, it's even worse when they do it to the more intelligent animals because i think that they have the ability to realize/recognize their situation. elephants have been so horribly exploited and yet they have the strength to just turn around and kill you. surprisingly, they generally don't. but when they do, it's hard to have much sympathy for the people who have held them captive.

I've seen the show. It is an elephant farm in Chiang Mai, Thailand. About 80 elephants there, each with their own caretaker. Playing devil's advocate here, the elephants had been used for construction in the past, but now they do these shows. (far less cruel, I would think) The elephants are domesticated (well as domesticated as one can get). So releasing them back into the wild would not be a possibility. Didn't see any ill treatment of the animals. They not only played darts, but also played soccer, painted pictures (with a ripley's believe it or not award too for that) and interacted with the audience. So I'm not ashamed to say I thoroughly enjoyed the show and was amazed. :-D

"It's rigged!"

I fully expected her to say

"Photoshop!!"

Ah, I have noromantic western ideas about elephants, they have been domesticated in the east for a veeerrrryyyy long time.

And basically if you want your life to end abruptly and painfully , then abuse an elephant.

They get treated better than I have been in several jobs.
