Jumping Spider mating dance.

Jumping spiders use their legs to communicate courtship interests to potential mates. The miniscule impacts of spider legs tapping against the ground surface are detected by nearby spiders. This "drumming" cadence signals the spider's reproductive interests. The female detects the low frequency vibrations through her legs. She responds by allowing the male to mount her.

Love the site, but it would be nice if you could put the video under a cut for us arachnophobics. I had to hold up a folder over the screen so I didn't have to look at it.

Oh Good God!! I think as a person Arachnophobia I was fascinated by the video and the sounds, yet, I was absolutely horrified by the thought of more spiders being born. Through out the whole video I had two phrases in my head, "Wow." and "KILL THEM!!"
