Dead in your hand, alive in your mouth.

Sloche [wiki] is a frozen beverage sold by the convenience store chain Couche-Tard, mostly in the province of Quebec, Canada. While it is similar in concept to the traditional Slush Puppie, Sloche has gathered much publicity through an aggressive (and sometimes controversial) marketing campaign. Couche-Tard also sells gummy candies under the Sloche brand.

The Sloche gummy candies have been discontinued.

Couche-Tard [wiki] was nice enough to send me some of the old gummy candy packaging (Mice, Bears, Flies, Spiders, Frogs).

Special thanks to Dominique Daoust @ Couche-Tard!

A couple of years ago all the convenience stores in Canada were in a competition to out gross each other with their marketing.

Around the time these Couche-Tard treats came out, Mac's (an english Canada chain) unleashed their Bloody Zit drink. If you look on YouTube you can find some of their ads for it.

Yeah, that bloody zit thing was weird and gross and I didn't understand it. I didn't go into Mac's the whole time they had the poster up for it.

Wow, I thought I'd pretty much documented all of the candies on my Sloche brand candy blog, but I see a couple examples up there of packages I'd never seen! Example: The "hanged" spider and the swatted fly. Cool.
