Here's a list of tricks used by MacGyver in each episodes of the TV show. I still remember the pilot episode when he used chocolate to stop an acid leak in a brand new factory that was crumbling down.

Used shirt to filter gases
Sodium metal & cold capsule explosive
Flipped lights in morse code

This would be perfect for the mythbusters to do a special on. "MacGyver myth special! can he really make a nuclear reactor out of a paperclip, piece of string and a rubberband?"
