Watch Disasters in Real-time

The map above shows a real-time view of some of the disasters being tracked by the RSOE HAVARIA Emergency and Disaster Information Service in Budapest, Hungary. The neat (although slightly morbid) thing about the site is that it consolidates all disasters, from animal attacks (as seen above in S. Africa) to storms (in Northeast U.S.) to disease epidemics (throughout Africa). It also allows the user to click on any epidemic for more details and a close-up satellite picture. http://hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/woalert-general.php?lang=eng

It is not all about disasters - we are in New York City - and could not resist clicking to find out what was causing us to be on the map

Apparently- it was because of the cold wave we are in
BTW:
temperatures are in the thirties during the day adn teens during the evening

Here's another one: http://www.gofish.com/player.gfp?gfid=30-1028181

It's the "global incident map" of terrorism and other suspicious activity (possible bombs, suspiscious letters, etc.)

The maps are scary and depressing, yet informative (and a good bit addictive!)
