Cone-shaped Metropolitan Cathedral in Rio de Janeiro.

The cone-shaped Metropolitan Cathedral is located in downtown Rio de Janeiro. Its height and base diameter are at 75 and 106 meters, respectively. This unique, magnificent building with a capacity of 20,000 people is not only one of the Brazilian city's landmarks, but also a masterpiece of modern art.

I think that this might be one of the most overated buildings in the entire world. It is ugly in the extreme, as is much of the architecture of Centro (Downtown) Rio. It unfortunately ruins what should be -- and still for the most part is -- a beautiful view from Santa Tereza. This hideous architecture is particularly discordanant in what is still the most beautiful major City in the World.

I agree, the building is fabulous. It's not beautiful in a classical sense, but it has some grace. And the interior is fabulous. Under the building, at the underground, there's an enormous ossuary. And it's way older than the North Korean hotel.
