By holding some in the palm of your hand, Miss Cellania--it starts going all soft after a few short seconds, and then drips right through your fingers. Kids get a huge kick out of playing with the gooshy stuff!

A non-newtonian liquid is otherwise fluid, unless you apply pressure to it (like running really fast on it), then it has solid-like properties. That's why when the guy stands, he sinks!

They did this once in the tv program Brainiac.. had this guy run across a pool filled with custard.
