Shuto of 3yen discovered this strange "blue shamrock" car sticker on a car in a parking lot in Japan:
Could this “Blue Shamrock” car sticker mean the Japanese driver is handicapped by too much Irish whiskey?
Well today I stumbled across this only-in-Japan factoid…
In June of 2002, Japan adopted the shamrock symbol to designate of handicapped parking. The Japanese logic was the international symbol of a wheelchair did not encompass all forms of disability (heart conditions, stroke, being Irish, etc).
I find it odd that I'm being quoted about this strange handicapped symbol since I took the picture of the car window last year (Nov 2005). I've posted it several times on different Japanese forums over the past year trying to find an answer to the Irish-on-Board warning sticker.
By the way, why is everyone calling me "Shuto" (meaning 'expressway' in Japanese) when my name is 'Taro'? Is this a Gaelic spelling handicap?
Just wanna chime in that I, too, think that Fronika has made him/herself look like an utter idiot. Grasping hold of one minute piece of data does not entitle you to feel intellectually superior, as you have proven oh so well, Fronika ... you dummy
By the way I happen to be handicapped. I just love when self-righteous people get offended on behalf of other people.
P.S. get your facts straight before you start insulting people.
