I like the Florida comparison. Sorry though Not having weapons does not lead to peace. There is a reason we study history. Tibet ring a bell? There are also a lot of weapons out there that don't have bullets or explosions. I've been places where food and machetes are turned into weapons just as easily as a gun. History is wrought with the stronger always trying to destroy the weaker and I for one am proud of a nation that stands up for the rights of the weaker time and again. If Israel was completely/magically disarmed tommorow of all its weapons, it would be complete obliterated from the map, in the coming days after. If Syria/Iran/Lebanon were completely/magically disarmed tommorow, the Mid-East would be a lot safer, and Israel wouldn't strike a defenseless country, if they were totally disarmed.
And if a renegade group of Cuba's Military, started sending rockets and missles into Florida, you don't think Americans would be throwing a fit for the US military to go in and stop the renegade military of Cuba?
