Voice recognition software is far from perfect, and depending on how clearly you enunciate and your accent the software might not know what to do with the words coming out of your mouth.
But some voice recognition software is actually really good at converting sounds to text, which musician Paul Nowell, aka Paul the Trombonist, discovered when he accidentally texted his wife with voice recognition while playing the trombone:
The voice recognition software did such a good job of translating Paul's trombone groove that you can actually play along with your mouth if you sound out the words like a trombone would.
And since his tweet went viral Paul decided to make this video response to show how his tromboning got turned into a text:
