Craftsman Creates Amazing Hardwood Floor Art From Random Wood Pieces

Hardwood floors are hard to plan out when the house has straight walls and you're using boards with perfectly square edges, so I can't imagine how craftsman Alexey Steshak even begins to map out his amazing mosaic style floors.

I can see from the photos above that he starts out with some sort of gameplan, but after his initial path is set down he starts going crazy, cutting each random piece of wood on the fly to fit in with his flow.

And while his process photos may look like home renovation madness and utter chaos the end result of Alexey's hard work is a hardwood floor like no other I've ever seen.

And the coolest part- Alexey creates custom baseboards and small tree sculptures that make it look like arboreal shapes from the floor are flowing right up the wall.

And we might also be the record holders for largest "Blue Screen of Death", although not proud.

Any other cities as gung ho about Guinness World Record day?

I would LOVE one of those stockings! I settled for a much funkier yet smaller version when I got one for my niece yesterday (http://www.brightandbold.com/youdeitchst.html), which is probably good, because I don't think I could afford the St. Nick goodies for the one in Toronto! Thanks for sharing!
