Photographers generally choose to keep themselves out of their own pictures, and those who choose to shoot self portraits generally shoot them in a controlled/studio setting.
These are not those kind of self portraits, and Kerry Skarbakka is not one of those behind-the-lens kind of photographers. Kerry prefers to keep his portraiture dangerous, and full of motion, putting himself in harm’s way in order to capture a perfectly fleeting moment as he falls off of cliffs, trees, ladders, and even slips in the shower.
It's hard to look through Kerry's photo series Struggle To Right Oneself without wincing a little, and certain falls in the past come to mind that make me glad nobody was there to capture the moment with a pic!
