The Uncomfortable Project

Katerina Kamprani designed these items to be rather useless. First you laugh, then you realize how weird they make you feel. We are used to products being designed for a certain purpose, but just imagine trying to use these things!

KK decided to create and design for all the wrong reasons. Vindictive and nasty? Or a helpful study of everyday objects?

The goal is to re- design useful objects making them uncomfortable but usable and maintain the semiotics of the original item.

See 27 objects in the collection at Kamprani’s gallery. The Uncomfortable Project also has its own Facebook page with even more. -via b3ta

The glass you would just drink from the top and flip the bottom of the glass up. The fork is still usable, though tiny to grab. Ever use a prison toothbush? Same concept. =P
