The Cornfield Bomber

(YouTube link)

The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force tells the story of the Cornfield Bomber, which would be better named the Wheat Field Fighter. Pilot Gary Foust tells how the Convair F-106 Delta Dart went out of control during a routine training flight in 1970 and spun until he ejected. Then, it leveled out on its own, and flew itself to a gentle landing in a snow-covered Montana field! No, the military fighter plane did not have autopilot. The plane had so little damage from the incident that it was soon put back into service, and Foust got to fly it again. -via Viral Viral Videos

City of LIGHT for gosh sakes, the City of LIGHT, not LIGHTS.

The term "ville lumière" is actually meant to mean "city of enlightenment" in terms of culture and learning and has nothing to do with the street lighting.
