Duke Street Hazard

(YouTube link)

There's a slope in the pavement where a garage ramp crosses the sidewalk. On slick icy days, this will be hazardous, which is why the warning cones are there. But people have to walk by anyway! Watch eight mesmerizing minutes of people sliding, a few butts busting, and at least one chain reaction. -via Arbroath

Who needs a tv when you can look out your window and watch this all day.

Kudos for the warning signs and the girl futilely trying to tell people not to walk there. Bag of sand works wonders

It's basically a population density graph. It doesn't indicate that the Eastern States eat more McDonalds. The cities are closer together which is why the dots get denser. The Great Plains and Rocky Mountain Regions are sparsely populated; Denver and Salt Lake City are the only dense areas in these regions. Again, it's just population density, not an indication of calorie consumption.

I agree with Matt. We have three McD's here in the college town where I live. One located in Wal-Mart. This county is much smaller than my hometown county which has only about half the population and only one McD's at least 30 miles from any other. As a side note another location did not have a McD's until the 21st Century when it was likely determined that the traffic flow was enough to support a profit.

I see they left out Alaska. Makes sense, as it would be all black with just a few small dots.

You can drive for almost 400 miles without seeing the golden arches up here!
