How Dave McKean Created Multidimensional Artwork Before Photoshop

Dave McKean is a prolific artist with a very unique style which reminds many of artwork created with Photoshop.

The thing is Dave was creating these works well before software like Photoshop even existed, and the meticulous way he went about crafting his iconic comic book covers and prints is a thing of wonder. 

You can take a look at how he constructed the covers for Sandman issues 1 and 2 at the link below, they're like dioramas for comic book geeks.
