The Nabuyatom Crater


In Kenya lies Lake Turkana, the world's largest alkaline lake. This is the Nabuyatom Crater, a geological marvel of that lake. It's a caldera--the remnants of a collapsed volcano.

Great picture! I have developed an infatuation with craters and lakes after visiting Oregon's Crater Lake in 2000. I recently learned of the Russian island Onekotan. It is beautiful and interesting. Thanks for the post!
