Break Dancing Gorilla

This gorilla has got some moves! Meet Zola, the break dancing gorilla:

Zola, nine-years old, is one of eight Western lowland gorillas currently living at the Calgary Zoo as part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Gorilla Species Survival Plan. He loves to play in water and keepers regularly give him the opportunity to do so as part of the enrichment activities they plan and vary on a daily basis.

In Crichton's "Congo", the claim was made that gorillas are deathly afraid of water, so much so that they will divert their migration path by a mile, rather than walk through a yard-wide stream of water.

All of that makes me wonder whether this is "love" or "stress response"?

If you actually watch the video link on you tube and read the description the keepers state that Zola thrives and loves the water.

And though the video doesn't show the entire enclosure, this is an indoor play area, not the gorillas full time enclosure, in fact the Calgary Zoo has spent millions and millions creating a natural beneficial gorilla enclosure

Wow, I can't believe some of that stuff happened that long ago. . . The Cat with the corn on the cob seems so long ago! Charley was my absolute favourite. The story was so sweet it made me want a Charley of my own.

The cat playing the piano is the most precious thing I have ever seen! I am a cat lover and my cats do some pretty funny things but this beats them all.

the swimming cat pic looks crule because the owner could of juss put it in the water and so therefore of course its gunna swim cz it would drown otherwise!!!
