Women Are Lazier Than Men

It's official. Science has spoken, ladies and gentlemen, so there's no refuting the fact: women are lazier than men.

Women may have higher IQs and longer lives than men, but a new study shows that they are also lazier.

Lancet published a paper this week examining which countries have the most and least active citizens. The findings showed that 34 percent of women in 122 countries are inactive, as opposed to 28 percent of men.

I can vouche for this.

My family moved to a new apartment 2 weeks ago and my stay at home wife has yet to unpack a single box and is usually asleep when I get home from a long day at work.

She probably sleeps 15 hours a day at least.

Perhaps the 3 things are connected: live longer, higher IQ, less active? I question the use of the word lazier, when what the study says is less active.

This is a misleading and frankly a pretty insulting headline. Quoting a comment from the original article:

"Okay, so really what the study is saying is that women EXERCISE less than men, not that they are lazier. They are probably too busy working - earning money, performing childcare, managing the home, and a myriad of other things - to get the kind of exercise that might show up in this study. Check out http://www.economist.com/node/13717514 to see data from 18 OECD countries showing that men have more leisure time than women."
