What genius is responsible for this wonder? We must (1) find out, then (2) create a bacon category among the Nobel Prizes, and then (3) award the chef with it.

You begin with about 20 strips of bacon and then you find yourself some Super Glue.

Taco shells are corn tortillas put in a v shaped form and deep fried. If the form were made from something with more shape of its own like a large grid wire mesh, you could easily just layer the bacon in and fry. The edges would glue themselves together during the deep fry process.
