YouTube is blocked here at work, but I saw him give this lecture at my college in 1992 or so. It was awesome. I can still quote sections of it.

Can some reader identify the operatic source and tell us whether the selection is in some way related to falling/tragedy/injury etc? It works well as a soundtrack here - I'm just wondering whether there is a broader context that escapes me.
