I must be the only person on Twitter who calls their location by its real name. A recent study by InboxQ revealed that 66% of Tweeters have either made up a location entirely ("John Malkovich's brain") or use clever nicknames for their cities. The latter is what you'll find represented in this "America According to Twitter" map. That's it. I'm now considering my location "Hartford of the West." It doesn't quite have the same ring as "Paris of the Plains," but it's a start.

Paris of the Plains is better than the other nicname "Cowtown".

Too bad they have Anchorage about 500 miles west of where it is. Twitter's geolocations needs refinement.

"Illadelphia" may be the hip name for Philadelphia, but the most appropriate nickname the city has is Philthydelphia.

Fun map! One thing. Illadelphia should be further south near Delaware. Right now you have it closer to Scranton.

The constant putting of "twit" in "twitter" never ceases to amaze.
