Target Ain't People

Angry at Target's donation of over $150K to Tom Emmer*, a conservative candidate for Governor of Minnesota (here are the reasons), a flash mob descended on the big box retailer and ... sang!

Here's Target Ain't People, by the political group MoveOn.org: Hit play or go to Link [YouTube]

*Note: Target has since apologized for the donation.

Thanks for posting this video. Though MoveOn supported this effort, the folks who designed and implemented it were from Agt-Pop and the Backbone Campaign. It was our finale after a week of artful activism trainings.

This was a brilliant protest. my only question is, did the people on line continue with their purchases, or did they leave the store with the activists?

Also, whomever posted above that Target is owned by Walmart is incorrect. they're owned by the Dayton-Hudson Corporation (if you lived in the midwest you may recall the department store, Hudsons, who were bought by Marshall Fields, which was eventually bought/renamed Macy's). Target owns the rights to it's name as well. Walmart isn't in the picture.
