The desolate city shown seems to be actual images of Pripyat, which was abandoned after the Chernobyl disaster. (The ferris wheel was what caught my eye, compare 3:36 or so to this image.)

The video was nice, but good lord that song is annoying as hell! Wouldn't have been so bad if there wasn't a chorus repeating every single thing the singer said.
