I have seen a dead opossum with road stripes painted over it in Oregon, and have since found a picture of a similar event in a newspaper. This is not uncommon.

This looks real to me, and DJ that is just sad man ... I would've gotten a shovel and at least scrapped the poor thing off of the road ...

Having worked with various road crews in varying capacities I would put my money on the side of this being real and not photo shop. Shoddy work from a lazy son of a.... And yes, so sad.
