WOW, what a great link! Good point about the cost of living ... I think I need to move my poor self to a farm in India, I'd live like the percentile on this graph says I should!

It also doesn't take into account how many people you support. But when I divided my income by the three people who rely on my income, it only made a different of 2% globally.

But since I live in a poverty-sticken part of the US, I live better than people who make several times my income in New York or San Francisco.

Because they didn't take into account cost of living. Sure, you're richer than most in China, but Big Macs in China cost only $1.26 - so, you do the math - if a Big Mac costs $2.50 where you live, a Chinese person making half as much as you lives as well.

The Japanese make a LOT of money, but they also pay the highest prices for everything.
