I would have to say the Piltdown man would be tops because it was actually taught as fact in science books. Only it was an "early human" fossil that turned out to be mixed bones including that of an Orangutan jaw. A guy made a machine that he claimed could turn one dollar bills into hundred dollars bills. After demonstrating the contraption, the guy would offer to sell it for a couple of thousand dollars and some suckers actually bought it. The Piltdown Man probably wasn't included because it wasn't made up by a trickster. It WAS a hoax, but no single person was behind it, it was just bad documentation and old science.

WMD's were never found, but everything to make them was! And, obviously you were never been over there because regardless of what MSNBC puts on the news until one of the so called non-terrorist/extremist shoots at you, you have no place to call them anything other than terrorist. Oh yeah, of shore drilling could supply fuel at the pumps in as little as 6 months!
